Florida artist Sissi McLaughlin began her creative journey in 2015, embracing painting as a self-taught expression of emotion, resilience, and faith. Working primarily with acrylics and oils, she developed a bold, intuitive style that stands in stark contrast to her former day-to-day life as a first responder.
Driven to better understand the psychological toll and resilience within law enforcement, especially as a military veteran, Sissi earned a degree in mental health studies—an experience that deepened her awareness of trauma, healing, and the power of creative outlets. In that process, she discovered that art had become her own form of therapy, offering a space for reflection and restoration.
Now working in the private sector to support her artistic pursuits, Sissi uses her gifts to uplift others. She regularly donates her work to local charities, silent auctions, and community events to raise funds and awareness for mental health initiatives benefiting veterans and first responders. Through her art, she aims to honor those who serve, inspire hope, and bring beauty into the lives of others.
